All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ told his followers, "I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

The promise Christ spoke is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowerment became the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. The experiences are recorded in the book of Acts which demonstrates that His baptism is His further investment of power for life and service, and the presentation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and their uses in the work of the ministry.
