This command was put in place by Jesus at His last Passover meal with His disciples.

Three times a month, Jermaine Washington and Michelle Stevens get together for what they call a "gratitude lunch." With good reason! Washington donated a kidney to Stevens, whom he described as "just a friend." They met at work where they used to have lunch together. One day Michelle wept as she spoke about waiting on a kidney donor list for 11 months. She was being sustained by kidney dialysis, but suffered chronic fatigue and blackouts and was plagued by joint pain. Because Washington couldn't stand the thought of watching his friend die, he gave her one of his kidneys. When you've got something great to be thankful for, having a "gratitude lunch" is a great way to celebrate.

Transubstantiation- The miraculous change by which according to Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox dogma the Eucharistic elements at their consecration become the body and blood of Christ while keeping only the appearances of bread and wine.

Consubstantiation- The actual substantial presence and combination of the body and blood of Christ with the Eucharistic bread and wine according to a teaching associated with Martin Luther.

Memorial- Serving to preserve remembrance: of or relating to memory. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ we understand according scripture that we participate in partaking of the body and blood symbolically to remember what Jesus did for us through the death burial and resurrection.

Do this in remembrance of me- During this time when we partake of the bread and wine (grape juice) symbolic of the body and blood of Jesus. We are to consider the price that was paid for our sins. Be thankful for what Jesus sacrificed for the freedom we have through the cross.

Examine yourself- The Bible says we are not to eat and drink in an unworthy manner. This means we have to make sure we get right with God before taking the elements. If we are holding on to sin, not right with a brother or sister or something you know is wrong and have not asked for God’s forgiveness. This should be done before taking the elements.

Qualifications- You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of John. You must be born again not of natural decent or human decision or a husbands will but born of God, flesh gives birth to flesh but the spirit gives birth to spirit you should not be surprised at my saying you must be born again.
