Linguistic studies have found that styles can develop according to periods of culture. Linguistic styles will also show through in copies or edits that take place outside a given era. Linguists have had much time to study and contrast Biblical writings against similar period writings to determine whether the copies are accurate copies or if there were editorial writing that marks it as a fraudulent or impure copy.

The job to copy scripture to further transmit is a serious undertaking. Not merely because of accuracy for the benefit of the future readers. It is also because the Scripture gives caution, "if anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book." Revelation.
